About

About
Voices of the Land is a 3-day, free or koha-entry, interactive and multi-sensory art installation celebrating Aotearoa’s manu (birds) and landscapes.

This unique experience combines:

  • Large-Scale Vibrant Paintings: Created by Noila Souza, capturing the beauty of New Zealand’s native birds and landscapes.

  • Projected Imagery: Stunning native bird and landscape photography by renowned photographer Rob Pine, adding visual authenticity.

  • Authentic Birdsongs: Field-recorded sounds of native birds, forests, wind, and rivers.

Interactive Motion-Sensor Technology: Visitors can “awaken” the sounds of nature, creating an immersive and dynamic experience.

    Key Outcomes

The primary goal of Voices of the Land is to inspire a sense of kaitiakitanga (guardianship) by:

    • Celebrating Aotearoa’s unique birdlife and landscapes.

Offering a rare, interactive, nature-focused art experience in the Rodney region.

Creating an inclusive space for creativity, reflection, and connection with nature and art.
