Held over three days during Labour Weekend, the event showcases local artists in their home studios and community spaces, attracting thousands of visitors to the town each year. It has become a signature cultural event for Helensville, placing the town on Auckland’s cultural event map.

Art Centre Helensville is a not-for-profit organization in the Rodney region, offering art and craft classes, workshops, and opportunities for local and international artists. The centre supports local artists through exhibitions, monthly solo shows, and community engagement initiatives.

Key Features of the 2025 Event

This year, Arts in the Ville is undergoing a refresh to make it more interactive and inclusive for the growing and diverse Helensville community. Key additions and highlights include:

• Youth Art Competition:

  • Two age brackets with an award ceremony at the end of the weekend.

• Kaipara Cup Race:

  • Workshops to create paper boats leading up to the event, with the race taking place during the weekend.

• Treasure Hunt:

  • Run by Jeff Thomson, adding a fun and engaging activity for families.
